For the 2006 Season, the Committee has decided to reorganise the club
mooring trots to make it easier to leave and return to each berth. The main
difference is to reduce the number of trot lines from 5 to 2 (with a third
for one or two additional boats only), and have similar types of boats
paired up alongside each other on either side of the main two trots. This
should have the effect of leaving narrow clear channels to allow access to
the moorings at the back of the harbour. The new layout is attached showing
the allocation of boats to moorings. We hope that, overall, most mooring
holders will find this to be a better arrangement, and that no one should be
worse off.
The work to reduce the number of trots is in progress and will be done
before lift in on 8 April. Each trot will have a full set of risers to
attach your mooring lines. When mooring your boat, please ensure that your
lines are tight, to reduce movement with the adjoining boat, and only one
bow line and one stern line from the quarter should be used. The boats at
the rear end of the trot can use the riser provided or you may secure your
stern line to the pier ringbolt. You may need to try both methods to see
which works best. When leaving your mooring, it is suggested that your lines
are placed on the adjoing boat to avoid loose lines in the channels.
