HARBOUR MOORINGS : BOOMS OUT OF ACTION 14-Sep-2008

To club members with boats moored on the club moorings (and anyone with any harbour mooring). This is to warn you that the harbour crane is out of action and consequently there is no way of putting the harbour entrance booms in place in the event of 'surging' within the harbour caused by storm conditions. You need to make your own decision about how important this is and whether to keep your boat moored in the harbour over the winter.

If you need any further information about this then email the harbourmaster at admin@nbharbour.org.uk.

CLUBHOUSE ACCESS : KEYFOB ENTRY SYSTEM 07-Sep-2006

Cluhouse access is now based on entry fob system. Just hold the keyfob close to the sensor (in the door frame near the handle) and the door is unlocked. Any member can 'buy' a fob @ £3 each, having first given me your details to record against that fob. It is not really a purchase as you may return the fob and be refunded the £3 as long as this system is still in full operation when you do so.

You can 'apply' for your fob by emailing webmaster@elyc.org.uk, stating your full name, and date of birth if you are under 18, or by ringing me on 01620 895079. Then I allocate a keyfob to you having recorded your details against that fob's serial number. I will let you know the serial number and you can 'buy' your keyfob over the bar quoting that serial number - this ensures the right keyfob gets to the right person.

HARBOUR MOORINGS - ALLOCATION OF CLUB MOORINGS 23-Mar-2006

For the 2006 Season, the Committee has decided to reorganise the club mooring trots to make it easier to leave and return to each berth. The main difference is to reduce the number of trot lines from 5 to 2 (with a third for one or two additional boats only), and have similar types of boats paired up alongside each other on either side of the main two trots. This should have the effect of leaving narrow clear channels to allow access to the moorings at the back of the harbour. The new layout is attached showing the allocation of boats to moorings. We hope that, overall, most mooring holders will find this to be a better arrangement, and that no one should be worse off.

The work to reduce the number of trots is in progress and will be done before lift in on 8 April. Each trot will have a full set of risers to attach your mooring lines. When mooring your boat, please ensure that your lines are tight, to reduce movement with the adjoining boat, and only one bow line and one stern line from the quarter should be used. The boats at the rear end of the trot can use the riser provided or you may secure your stern line to the pier ringbolt. You may need to try both methods to see which works best. When leaving your mooring, it is suggested that your lines are placed on the adjoing boat to avoid loose lines in the channels.
