The ELYC training programme has three aims:
A variety of RYA accredited and ELYC designed courses are run throughout the year for both adults and cadets both on the water and onshore. There is an activity or course to suit everyone. The Training Programme (except for the Summer School weeks) is mainly made up of volunteers who have given up their time to share their love for sailing with others.
Thanks to generous funding from a variety of sources the club has a fleet of 12 race-fitted Toppers and 4 2000s. We also have 4 ribs which we use for teaching powerboats skills and as rescue craft for ELYC activities. Training activities run no matter what the weather is to ensure that as many opportunities as possible are given for personal development. This may be based onshore dependent on the weather.
Please note that certificates for RYA accredited courses are awarded through the RYA scheme, and only awarded when skills can be shown at the correct level. The club takes no responsibility for the completion of certificates.
