Go Racing will return in 2019 and will run every Monday through the main sailing season from May to August. The start time is approx. 1800hrs and finish time around 2100hrs dependent on daylight. There will be a briefing at 1830 and it is important you attend this so you know what the plan for the session is.
These evenings are aimed to help both adults and children confidently participate in club racing activities. Go Racing is open to anyone who holds a minimum of RYA Level 2 / Stage 2 certificates or equivalent.
The evening is structured with an onshore briefing, multiple short handicap races and then an onshore de-brief. Over the season the team, led by Iain, will cover a wide range of sailing and racing areas to help you gain confidence around the race course. The team is made up of club volunteers who are active club racers.
In the case of bad weather permitting on water training then the team may decide to run a short shore based session dependent on interest.
This training activity is run by club volunteers and has no charge unless you require to hire a club boat. The cost of hiring a Topper is £5, a Pico is £10 and a Laser 2000s is £10 (please note 2 people are required to sail a Laser 2000). All boat reservations must be made online. You can reserve a club boat by clicking on the upcoming Go Racing events shown below. If you do not require to use a club boat then you only have to turn up and go sailing!
